{"id":13934,"date":"2020-04-05T17:13:25","date_gmt":"2020-04-05T21:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/manselldesign.ca\/ProbusORGtoRedesign\/?p=13934"},"modified":"2020-04-17T12:11:37","modified_gmt":"2020-04-17T16:11:37","slug":"more-recipes-to-share-keep-them-coming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/manselldesign.ca\/ProbusORGtoRedesign\/more-recipes-to-share-keep-them-coming\/","title":{"rendered":"More recipes to share &#8211;  keep them coming"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Asparagus, Spinach and Fennel Salad &#8211; Peggy Sturch<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>If you don\u2019t like fennel use Belgian endive<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Just reduce the quantity of vegies for two but keep the dressing for another day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1 small fennel bulb trimmed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>salt<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>8 ounces asparagus trimmed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>6 cups spinach<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dressing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2 tbsp mayonnaise<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2 tbsp white wine vinegar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1 tsp chopped fresh tarragon \u00bc tsp dried<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bc tsp finely chopped garlic<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1\/3 cup olive oil<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>salt and pepper<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cut fennel in half and remove core. Cut very thin using a mandolin or sharp knife. Place in a bowl and sprinkle with salt and let set for 30 minutes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add asparagus and cook for 2 minutes (crunchy tender) Drain under very cold water. Cut into two inch pieces.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisk dressing ingredients together.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Combine asparagus and spinach in bowl. Drain and rinse fennel, at dry and add to asparagus and spinach. Toss with dressing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Bourbon &amp; Brown\u00a0Sugar Marinated Steak<strong>&#8211; Peggy Sturch<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<p><strong>1\/2 cup soya<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1\/3 cup bourbon or any other whisky<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1\/3 cup brown sugar<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1 Tbsp Dijon<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1 tsp hot sauce (eg Tabasco)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1 small flank, strip lions, sirloin. (actually any steak)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Combine marinate ingredients in large zip lock. Put in steak for 30 minutes or longer if a tougher cut.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Remove steak and shake off excess and grill and grill to your desired degree on doneness.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Meanwhile out left over marinate in a small sauce pan and boil until syrupy. (About 3 minutes)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Cut meat into slices, drizzle some sauce on top.
